Toolkit Tackling Gender Based Violence

ActionAid and Population Foundation of India are implementing a project in Muzzafarnagar, Uttar Pradesh and Karauli, Rajasthan that aims to ensure that the community, including the men and boys within it, have the capacity to identify the problem of gender inequality and overt and covert forms of gender discrimination and begin a momentum of questioning the status quo.
Working closely with the programme teams we developed a communication package for the intervention to facilitate discussions around Gender Based Violence. The communication package includes participatory games, posters and films, and a guide on using films to facilitate a discussion, all developed in Hindi. The package was pre-tested before finalisation and we were also engaged to train the facilitators in using the package at the field level.
